The Sunday Club are making a Church Family Christmas Card again this year, for us to sign and send greetings to each other. The money saved on individual cards and
postage can be donated to NCH Action for Children. This card rack will also be available for those wishing to send individual \cards.

Jenny Robinson has produced some hand made cards
to raise cards to raise money for JMA. These will be available
at the rear of the Church as often as possible. If you would like a card personalised, or want something that is not there, please see Jenny.
Christmas Choir
Due to lack of rehearsal time, the Choir is unable to entertain the Horticultural Society after all, However , Frances, will
start rehearsals at 11.45 am on Sunday 20th November
, and then every Sunday, to produce for our Christmas
Carol Service on the 18th December, when the Choir
will sing a few items.
The more voices we have, the better it will sound,
so please do join us.

So as to keep everyone informed about what goes on in
around our Church, I thought I would update you with
the latest from our "Natty Knickers"
(Previously Mother Teresa Support Group)
There are now four members. who are still busy
knitting hats, scarves, and mittens to put into
Christmas parcels for the homeless in London.

Technical Problems have caused the Autumn Edition to be cancelled but there will
be a bumper Winter Edition. See Acorns below for full details.
Isabel and Michael King
Isabel and Michael would like to thank everyone for their kindness
last Sunday and say that they are finally now in their new home (as of Friday 21st October).

We will be later where they have sent, so watch this space.

On behalf of the Staff at Acorn's , I would like to express my regret that, due to technical

edition. To this end, we ask all of you to consider submitting material - articles, pictures, poems,
, prayers - indeed anything that you might feel might be of interest to our world-wide readership.

At 10.30 am on 2011 Women's World Day of Prayer Service was held at St. Martin de Porres Roman Catholic Church in Cuffley.
The Service this year was prepared by the Christian women of Chile, entitled " How many loaves have You?"
This was an enjoyable and moving service , and was one which gathers our six local churches of Goffs Oak, Cuffley and Northaw together ecumenically, and the readings were shared between members of those Churches.
It was amazing thought that when we woke up on 4th March the same service will have been celebrated in the country after country
as we slept. When our own service ended, the same words were said and sung in another town or country, and when we switched off our lights that night, somewhere in the world the service is still being celebrated!
People came and were part of it.
Everyone who attended were most welcome (not just women).

On Saturday 16th April, the Circuit held a Table Sale and Coffee Morning at Trinity Methodist Church, in aid of Action for Children for Children. If you would like a table, they're £10 each. Good quality bric-a-brac , e.g. unwanted gifts , collectables and jewellery will be needed for Action for Children's own stall , and help will be needed to man the stall and the coffee bar. To book a table , offer to help or more details, please ring Kathy Webb (02088820717) or Jackie Thompson (02083674348).

We were asked to write Chapters 33 and 34 of Ezekiel as the Enfield circuit .

If anyone has a toy remote controlled car that they would be willing to lend to the Holiday Club, the leaders would be really grateful. Please see one of the Sunday Club leaders.
Also needed - large cardboard boxes ( TV set size or larger).
The Circuit website has been updated, and we are urged to take a look at , www.enfieldcircuit.com
Any feedback, amendments, notices and news for inclusion, should be sent to Joan Drummond at joan_drummond@lineone.net.
Any enquiries to the website will be routed to the Circuit office, for passing on to the appropriate person.
Hifi system required
When the Sunday Club came to put on a CD at the Christmas Party, they found that the player was broken. If anyone has a decent HiFi they want rid of, particularly if they've had a new one for Christmas, we would be very pleased to take it off their hands!

Is anyone available and or interested in taking over from Frances as Lettings Steward. She is having to stand down by the end of summer due to too many other commitments. It's a wonderful way to meet the local community, but you do not need to be local, or within easy reach of the Church. Frances would work with the new steward to make the handover easier. Please see her for details.
Purple Sacks
We are running low on our supply of purple sacks. Donations of any spares you may have will be greatly appreciated.
Steward Vacancies
There are four willing stewards in our ves-ter-y.
Then one come off, which has left us only three.
So, if you feel you would like to be; speak with Isabel, Hia or Stella.
There is no limit, as you will see, the more there are, the easier it will be.
So, again, please do consider coming forward to join us!
Handy-person required
If there is anyone who is "into' woodwork and who could make a new manger for the Church, would they please see Jacqui Seaman. Unfortunately, the one we have been using for some years now has woodworm, and must be destroyed.

This was held at St. Andrew's Church in Cuffley at 10.30 am.
This service this year has been prepared by the Christian women of the Republic of Cameroon in Africa, and is entitled " Let Everything that has breath, Praise God".
This has always an enjoyable and moving service, and is one which gathers our six local churches of Goffs Oak, Cuffley and Northaw together ecumenically, and the readings are shared between members of these churches.
It is an amazing thought that when we wake up on 5th March this same service will have been celebrated in country after country as we slept. When our own service ends, the same words will be said and sung in another town or country , and when we switch off our lights that night, somewhere in the world the service is still being celebrated!
Come and be part of it.
Everyone is most welcome (not just women!)

Action for Children has looked very seriously at revisiting its mission and core values.
The agreed platform for our future work and messages to supporters is;
' ALWAYS THERE FOR CHILDREN'
The Methodists have a special relationship with the NCH when it was founded in 1869 by a group of Methodists. It has grown and developed in many ways for caring for children and young people. Today Methodist make up 50% of the Trustees. The values held by the people working for the NCH are values which come from Methodism. They go in the heart of what we do and continue to do to provide the foundation and reason for being for work of the NCH. The Methodist are giving a Vision of a world where children and young people have a sense of belonging, and are loved and valued. A world where they can fulfil their potential, shape their destiny and experience for the joy of life.

Thank you to everyone for their contributions.

There may be
further
making sessions
in the Church hall. All this hard work
will produce another

Everyone is
still welcome and we were so thankful for there skilled help and
assistance. A
means another special
which will be made for another needy person. Thank you.

We now have more Church members needing a lift to morning services than we can accommodate in one car. Could any drivers amongst us, please speak to Bob to see how you can help.

We need a new Church Council Secretary. If anyone is able to help take minutes at these meetings 3 or 4 times a year, please see our minister or one of the stewards.
